What is your opinion after a couple of days of playing??
I want to play Fae Farm on PC, but I'm holding off for a bit till launch bugs get worked out. In the mean time, for those who are playing, what are your thoughts so far? How are the mechanics? How are the villagers and the main story? Do you think the game will have longevity with players?

Thanks for any opinions!

Its immediately one of my favourite games of all time, its like they took animal crossing, animal crossing happy home designer, stardew valley, minecraft and added all the quality of life updates I wanted.

It's better than any life sim without combat i've played. But worse than any i've played with combat and is way overpriced in my opinion.

The thing my wife and I have loved most of all is all of the quality of life helpers:

Auto selection of tools when u click to interact.
A map that lets you set way points.
Food suggestions that pop up so you can eat with one click when low on stam or hp.
Not having to rush home at the end of the day.
Teleports that are not late game.
Inventory and menus that are quick and easy in kb/mouse and controller.
Auto pull materials from nearby containers.
Lack of fall damage when exploring.
Plenty of little jump boost shortcuts.

There is more but this is just to name a few

If you are going to play with someone you don't live with and can't readily drag to the tv/pc i strongly suggest you host. If the hosting player punks out you will be left with nothing as every bit of progress is tied to that server.

I am really enjoying it so far. The tool swapping/ease of doing things around the town are making it enjoyable to play. I do not feel like I am getting bored by constantly having to do the same things. I know people are complaining about lack of interaction with NPCs but honestly that is one of my least fave part of gaming so I'm fine with it! I'm excited to keep playing- I've played for 7 hours.

Auto swaping is fine until your in combat and it keeps wanting to switch to your farming tools while your trying to kill something with the staff.

Weird my wife is playing with a controller and I am on KB/Mouse. We have made it to about mine floor 18 and never had this happen to either of us. Are you maybe hitting the scroll wheel by accident?

For me, Modern Stardew, also I wrote a review on the game I don't do that with games it's rare for me, the game has to be really really good or have high potential for me to spend hours planning & writing one (I'm disabled it's not easy)

Fix the time issues make days longer & fix the repeating NPC requests everyone requests the same thing, add some more deco stuffs id be pretty set given DLC is coming.

Fishing is fun & easy for me compared to stardews nearly impossible mess.
There's lots of crops to find & YOU the player must find them not buy from shop fertilizer crop swap them to find new kinds.
The animals are cute & can be colored,
Clothing & furniture can be colored (in single player) I can't do this in my multiplayer world as the guest broken maybe..
The world is huge, the mines are so nice & sounds are amazing too, the mines have different mechanics first it's switch later it's something else.
There's a lot to see, discover, catch, farm idk I love this game it's almost perfect for me.

It's cute, it has its charms but it's very limited in some areas (relationships are a joke, ranching is really underwhelming and overall the progression is a bit bland). But there's a lot to like at the same time.

HOWEVER, it's very buggy at the moment and I wouldn't recommend anyone to pick it up until the biggest game breaker very common bugs are fixed.

I usually play farming/life sim games as a side game so 1-2h a day max, but yesterday and today I've spent all of my time on this so it is safe to say I'm really enjoying it. It is cosy and relaxing and I actually like the relationship system being a bit lackluster since that is the one feature in this genre that I have never liked so not having to fuss over it is perfect for me :D So far I haven't encountered any bugs or major issues so fingers crossed it stays that way (playing solo and offline).

Is this the GOTY or something groundbreaking or some sublime game everyone out there should play? No, but at the end of the day most games aren't and that doesn't make them bad games. Is it as bad as some people are making it out to be? Imo no, but we are all looking for different things in games so me enjoying and loving the really casual feel doesn't change the fact that many features make the game feel "farmsim lite" because a lot of it is simplified compared to other titles in the genre. For me that is perfect right now, others will find it boring.
