Inventory/Stack Management

I'm enjoying the game so far, only just into Chapter 2.

I've noticed that I can't manage stacks of items as I would like. Unless I just haven't figured it out yet, or it possibly hasn't been introduced in-game to me yet, it seems like we are unable to merge two stacks of the same item (such as a stack of 2 mussels and a stack of 3 mussels), and also, that we are unable to split a stack of items.

As a workaround for combining stacks of items, you can actually drop items from one stack, and pick them up to have them possibly fill out the other.

Have I missed something? And if not, is this a feature that will be added to the game?

You can't but the storage bin will stack them.

That's good to know! I didn't think about trying that, yet. It's still a bit clunkier than I would like, but I'm enjoying so much in the game so far other than that.
