Why couldn't we choose our name?

I don't know if I missed something, but I only got to choose the name of my world - outside of that my character is named "AiraSora" like here on steam, but that's not what I wanted to call my character... can we change it??? xD

Yes you have to sign up for the multiplayer at the menu screen at Phoenix Labs.

The developers have stated they're working on changing this in a future update. For now you can either make a Phoenix Labs account or change your Steam name before starting to it takes your new Steam name for the profile. Annoying, yeah.

i like some of the mechanics and style, but the name decision may be one of the dumbest things I've seen in a game. Its game dev 101 that people want to name their character not use an account name. I'll deal for good gameplay but hope that update comes ASAP.

I wasn't too happy with this, either, but the process of signing up for a Phoenix Lab account from the game basically entailed accepting their terms and choosing your display name. Because it's linked to my Steam account, I didn't have to make up a whole username/password or jump through a whole bunch of hoops.

I know it's more inconvenient than allowing us to set up a name at the beginning, but at least it is possible to change the name this way and there isn't much to the process itself. I hope this helps!

This is really insane at release of a 40€ game (most expensive farm simulation ever in combination with strange design decisions).
Think I will skip this game for now. 50% of the positive revies were made in the first hour after release and all were made by users, which got their copy "for free".

The game is good granted I was gifted the game but I would pay 40 dollars for it.
