BEWARE OF STANDARD EDITION!!
This is a direct quote from a Dev on discord. You might end up paying more for all the content separately and be punished for getting just the standard edition and then DLC later on.

Hi folks,
Yep, Cozi’s got the right end of things here - I actually misread the question originally in the chat.
We don’t have full final pricing for either DLC pack yet - we’re working on the first now and will move onto the second after that, so we don’t have the details.
What I was trying to say was that people buying the Deluxe edition shouldn’t worry about us pricing the DLC separately much cheaper than Deluxe is - that’d feel bad and we don’t wanna do that.
In terms of whether the packs end up exactly hitting the same price as Deluxe, or cost more in the end separately, we just don’t know that yet and won’t for a while 🙂
Hope this helps."

Not consumer friendly. And downright wrong to punish those who choose to purchase the dlc separately.

It is a smidge shady to announce a version that's $30 cheaper shortly before release... but it is business after all... And if the game is all that I personally won't mind paying more for DLC - to support the game/devs - assuming the content is interesting and I want it/them.

But there's usually a marginal saving when buying a deluxe/gold edition of a game. Besides those content packs WILL go on sale at some point.

At this point I don’t trust this company. Besides this shady changes of pricing. They have absolutely horrible communication in regards to said changes. I’ve also seen a few concerning videos of the gameplay. And the devs respond with things such as future updates and taking the feedback into consideration. Even though this is being marketed as a fully fleshed out finished game it still somehow gives me early access vibes.

Since Starfield comes out just before.. I'm waiting on this. I'm curious to see what the steam reviews have to say.

Appreciate the heads up.

For sure! Hopefully Starfield is good though! I’m curious to see what steam reviews will show on this too.

Way too many red flags with this one, it's going to be a disaster. Waiting for a deep sale for sure.

As far as gameplay, this game looks very good. I’m not sure why any of you think pricing structure changes will affect the quality of the game’s coding and play? Why will it be a disaster? Early players are already reporting very good things about the gameplay.

You mean all the streamers who were given it for free and/or paid to give a positive review. It literally happens all the time in gaming, lol.

Watched a video yesterday

- 32 items MAX selling per day (that right there kills farming)
- NPCs all saying the same thing
- Limited freedom for placing items on farm
- Fishing is super tedious
- extreme mine grind for seals or whatever their called
- etc

For AAA pricing, it would have to be much better than games like SDV, Coral Island, Sun Haven, etc, not worse.

i don't think its delusional but it is a bit too high currently it is £33.5 (standard) - esp when coral island, rune factorys, dave the diver, roots of patcha etc are 15-25~
(i missed the deluxe eddition - thats even worse - thats just too much.)

ah the deceit of this studio...

studio rather than lower the price of a game that does not deserve its price, split its game in 2 offers to pass the pill.

the devs make believe that for 40 bucks, it is a complete game, while in the end it will be a amputated game, to make believe that the game is worth its 60 bucks

while in the end the game was 60 buck, and it’s still 60 bucks

how to take players for idiots...

At least their approach proves to me that it does not deserve that one buys their game.
it comforts me in the idea of taking it free when I want to give it a chance

People complained about the price and the devs listened, I don't see what the issue is.
