Bit of an annoying bug, but not game-breaking...

This just started happening, I think. Whenever I ask for a haircut (and presumably whenever my character needs to be altered), the area where my character's face should appear is blank and never materializes. I've tried both Wadsworth (the robot butler in Megaton) and Snowflake (the ghoul in Underworld), but neither work and I still can't see my character...
Nothing too bad, I suppose, the game is perfectly functional otherwise, but this hasn't happened before, so it's a bit annoying.
Ideas on fixing it?
