2. Suit choice: If in late-game choose the ‘Jxxxxxx’ Disguise, this ‘suit’ gains a 2-second invulnerability each time you get hit. But you’ll have to beat 6 chapters wearing the suit first before you can upgrade. When you have this. For me it felt sorta like the easy (or was it normal?) mode in Hades (get hit and be invulnerable for a few seconds)
2. Not sure if this was exclusive to the baton: probably from schematics you get something that lets you deflect all projectiles with your baton and deflected projectiles hit back with 400% damage. With this, the last boss loses health so fast.
3. Not sure if this will help but I used life leech perk (schematics with baton I think) (2 pts life gain with 60% reduced max health), along with maxed out dash attack that deals damage.
4. I only upgraded the baton at each Fabricator. The only time I beat the last boss with a build that was projectile-based was with the grenade launcher.
5. The laser part and projectiles: I don’t know what you can do except walk between the rays to dodge. T-T Don’t dash. Find the right distance from the boss so you can walk around the boss while dodging the laser. IMO, the big ball projectiles almost harder to dodge.
Good luck!
Thank you so much for the advice!
For the huge red beam/laser spew, dash into them to get to the next safe spot as the boss rotates them.
Boss becomes easy after all that.
I used the convict suit fully upgraded, baton and burst fire rifle.
I used the Pilot Suit fully upgraded for the first 3 biomes, then switch to the Last Corpse suit for the final one.
Skill: Padded Vest (with some upgrades), Last Caress, double dash, Executioner, Dash cooldown, rest up to your choice
Ranged Weapon: Mortar Backpack with the schematic upgrade that makes it do more damage in a much larger area but you hurt yourself when you stand in it (so be careful)
Melee Weapon: whatever you choose
Focus on making your Mortar more powerful and faster.
Once you reach the final boss you just spam your mortar constantly while dashing around like a maniac dodging all the bad ♥♥♥♥. You might die 1 or 2 times but it should be enough to kill it.
Enjoy!
Here's a final mech boss Fail Video.
On my 2nd try, I tried to heed some advice from here, but I simply lack the ninja finger skills to deflect the mech's blasts with my baton like freaking Neo in the Matrix while trying to damage his a**, even with Carress revival and double dash blah blah. Loved the game up to this point anyway.
So far I've only been able to reach the Mech boss using shotgun although on this try I couldn't find my favorite schematic (the one that blasts all your shells in one shot). Instead I got the one that adds 50% damage but cuts the magazine capacity in half (or by 4).
NOTE: This is my first test uploading a Steam video clip that I exported to MP4 and then uploaded to YouTube (very quickly; Steam seems to nicely optimize the HD clip for fast uploading, though it's not razor sharp at that default bit rate). :)
Assault Rifle or Mortar can dish out a lot more damage and are much further ranged than the shotgun. Focus on getting damage or rate of fire upgrades mostly, get all the Fabricator upgrades possible for your weapon through the run, sell any unnecessary experiments in between biomes. Burst him down ASAP especially during the first phases when he is not as annoying with all the AOE attacks and you can still easily dodge.
Good luck!
Edit: you could also activate Guard Mode in the gameplay menu for some easier option btw
Yeah it's just I do much better with shotgun up to that battle. I haven't been able to reach the mech boss using AR (the mining vehicle boss tends to off me), and I find the Mortar Backpack's sluggishness in targeting very difficult to progress with even on non-boss battles.
I think you get it from either dying or beating your corpse during a run. Maybe you need to beat your corpse several times even, don't know exactly how to unlock it.
So basically when you die during a run, the next run when you reach the point where you died you are able to fight yourself if you want to. If you beat it then you can choose a level 3 experiment from that last run. So you should always try to beat your corpse as the reward is quite good to strenghten your current run.
Concerning the AR rifle, focus on getting the schematic making it fully automatic and then some experiments increasing the attack rate and damage and you will be shredding enemies. My fastest run times come from AR runs. You can even shred the mining boss in a minute or so.
