I bought it, had about 20 hours of fun but found the end boss exasperating and impossible, so I moved on to other games for now.

For the most part, I like the game very much, thought I don't know if it's the kind of game that drives heavy forum traffic or heavy Discord chatter much, beyond talking about what boss/bosses you get stuck on and how to get past them.

Very likely they will. They did the same with Thunder Tier one, which had a much better launch and was a fun game. Failed to implement promised features in a timely manner and just walked away a month or so after launch.
