Nod laser turret crash
The infamous age old laser / disruptor crash doesn't seem to be fixed in this release, I just had it happen in Nod mission 2. Was kind of hoping all the modern system compatibility adjustments they made for this release would have taken care of it. Is there an easy / clean way to fix it for this version?

I haven't experienced any crashes with lasers or the disruptor beams so far.

These crashes are bugs in the game engine though. No external dll is going to magically fix those.

You're right, it was actually the CNCnet client that fixed it or Hyperpatch, but its been a while

Fun fact: CCHyper, who made that patch, is helping EA with this new and improved version of The Ultimate Collection. Though I'm not sure if EA will allow binary patches of that kind inside the collection. But at least we know it's in capable hands.

This does seem to fix the issue. It's very easy to test by force firing a disruptor at the bottom of the screen and then moving the screen upwards. Without this ddraw.dll it crashes 100% of the time, with it it doesn't.

However this introduced a new problem, the mouse scrolling is way too fast. I lowered it to minimum in the ingame settings, and tried fiddling around with the ddraw settings (including mouse sensitivity scaling on/off) and it's still way too fast.

Also I was able to stop the lasers from crashing the game by lowering visual details to medium in the ingame settings, but that does not fix the disruptor crash. Even setting it to low doesn't fix that.
