trouble running Red Alert 2 on MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1
Hi all,

I installed Red Alert 2 + Yuri Revenge patch on my MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1 using Porting Kit. Steam is installed via Porting Kit. I purchased the game and then tried to run it. It gets stuck on this: Error - Unable to set the video mode.

I browsed the local files by right clicking on the game and tried to change the color to 16-bit as per the instructions I found here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Command-Conquer-Games/Red-Alert-2-Error-unable-to-set-video-mode-need-help/m-p/5153840

When I reach game.exe or gamemd.exe or Ra2.exe or RA2MD.exe, I right click on each executable, then click on Properties and I don't have the 'Compatibility' tab.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to play Red Alert 2 on MacOS?

Please note that Origin is broken and not supported via Porting Kit.

Any hint or solution is much appreciated.

Thank you!

If Porting Kit is based on Wine, or works in a similar way, you might need to somehow tell the program to use the ddraw.dll in the game folder to override the system library of the same name. Windows does that automatically, but it seems that system like that don't.

I'm running Windows 11 Arm in VMWare Fusion on macBook Air M1. Steam version won't run due to render errors. But using CnCNet I was able to launch the game. You have some render options to select from in the launcher. I'm on Sonoma 14.5, but I hope it won't affect. Since it's a VM anyways.
