RA2 Soviet Campaign Crashes

I'm not sure what I should do. During the cut-scene after you capture President Ducan, a dialog box pops up, "Red Alert 2 has encountered an internal error and is unable to continue normally. Please vist westwood.com for technical support" is what the error says. I actually downloaded the EA version before downloading this one, and I got that same error on both, same cut-scene. Has anybody had this same issue?

It may be a half-baked "remaster" of sorts by EA Games. I remember when they updated to the latest version, EA took out the speed slider as well.

the speed slider was not enabled by default in all versions for campaign, you have to use the SPEEDCONTROL command line option to have it enabled

and they never touted this as a remaster, this is just a re-release

I knew it wasn't a remaster. I was kinda hinting at the fact that EA has become so big, they'll re-release stuff without playing through the game, first. Quality Control isn't there after you've bought out pretty much every other computer game maker.

It's similar to the GTA Remastered series, that was a disaster, and it's still not fixed.
Rockstar pawned it off on Grove Street Games, knowing they were going to make millions, regardless of overall play-ability. I knew the speed control thing, so that was fixed. Thanks.

How do you skip a cut-scene? I never knew you could do that.

Ok, I got that part. How do you actually "install" the patch? Steam is new to me, and I had brain cancer last year. It affected my right frontal lobe so that's even worse. Haha. I tried to follow the write-up last night, but the write-up assumed we knew where everything was. If you could do a step-by-step for me, I'd appreciate it.

Download the zip file
Extract the files inside the zip to your red alert 2 folder (normally steamapps\common\Command & Conquer Red Alert II)
If you don't know how to find out your own folder path, go to your steam library and right click on Red Alert 2, then "Manage">"Browse Local Files"

Run "RA2moviePatch.bat" inside the folder and just follow what it says

I made a simpler one, though; one that adds the correct video files as addon without needing any patch. Dump it in the folder, and it just works. It's also more robust since future updates won't remove the edits.
