Then download the file in the first post to get it to recognize the Steam version:

Replace when prompted.
Once installed, just follow the instructions to run it. You'll have to assign it a hotkey in the 'Development' section in Options>Keyboard
Just generate the map and if its one you like, use the hotkey while ingame on that map to export and it will generate it in the base game folder.
At best, they can save the random seed to reuse it in a vanilla game, but the file generated isn't enough to use for editing in FinalAlert2.
