will not let me pick any allies why ?

bought this a short time ago thought id play a skirmish 8 player, picked the map decided the type of map but when i picked the 2nd team you cannot have them as allies all teams come up as enemies, no option for any as friends , all 7 others players all ai only choice is easy medium and brutal enemy. This seems to be a total poor remake. ill just wipe it off the computer more money wasted, EVEN UNINSTALLED IT RE INSTALLED IT VARIFIED IT CAME UP OK. EVEN THE TEAM OPTION IN SKIRMISH COME UP YOU PICK 3 TEAM MATES EG UNDER A BUT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON YOUR TEAM IT SAYS ENEMY FOR EACH ONE OF THEM lol very poor the originals on cd were excellent but got rid of them when i changed comp, this lot is half backed bugged to buggery

the original r2 with Yuri had the option to have allies in battle and team even this one says you have the option to build off of your allies,this messed up version is no way a port over as there is no way to have allies in any of the skirmish games, they did in the originals i bought all the c&c and dlc all worked properly but this is a total joke.

More than a decade ago people ask your same question and the answer is still the same.

Base vanilla RA2 = no allies in skirmish

Play Yuri's Revenge for team options in skirmish.

If you really want base RA2 with computer allies, then just install CNCnet and turn on RA2 mode when in the skirmish lobby.

I am trying to play yuri revenge skirmish it does have the options for battle and team
i tried to play the team option 8 players
team 1 Green777 America team a
team 2 germany team a
team 3 GB team a
team 4 russian brutal team b

although we are supposed to be on the same team in the original game you get the option to pick easy medium and brutal for your friendly teams

BUT THAT OPTION IS NOT THERE JUST COMES UP AS EASY MEDIUM OR BRUTAL ENEMY
So it does not allow you to have a friendly team players even though they are supposed to be on your team This applies to both the battle and team game it still has the option if you choose to build off your friends. SO THERE MUST BE SOMETHING NOT ADDED. In the original i used to play the skirmish in yuri used a map with 8 players had it set for 3 in team a 2 in team b 2 in team c etc you could chose each teams skills friendly and enemies,this version is no way the full game.

I know there is a hotkey for alliance and the build off ally option in the skirmish menu for the original red alert 2, but the computer always gang up on the player in RA2 and the A hotkey never works. The build off ally option is always greyed out in my version.

YR gave you the option to select teams for other computer players in the skirmish menu and they should be allies with whoever you set them up with. If for example, in YR you put 2 computer players on team B and both fight each other, then yeah something is wrong but I never heard of this happening before.

The AI difficulties are always listed as Easy/Medium/Brutal Enemy, all that does is make the AI easy/harder, this does not have anything to do with whether or not they are on your team or not.

Just because it says "Enemy" in the name does not mean they are actually your ENEMY ingame when you actually put them on the same team as you

For the best skirmish experience I would highly recommend downloading the cncnet launcher at https://cncnet.org/yuris-revenge this also lets you play online multiplayer games. this will let you play the game in red alert 2 and Yuri's revenge mode via a checkbox and there is a wealth of other options like disabling spies, multi engineer capture (similar to red alert 1), expanded starting resource options, and tons of new maps and even gamemodes like tower defense, survival, Megawealth, and Unholy alliance. and lastly comes with an even more difficult ai option over the original 3 choices called Brutal AI which gives the Ai special bonuses like extra money and production speeds and can be applied to all 3 base difficulties. You also of course get access to the team selection for base ra2 skirmish. unrelated to skirmish itself you can also change the game to modern resolutions though given how the game renders the higher the resolution the smaller everything is and the more of the map you can see. I would not recommend going over 1920x1080 if you have a 4k monitor or something. you can also change the rendering engine for the game as different engines play better with different hardware and the base game renderer can just not work at all on modern systems.
