EA Play isn't something you "install" anyway, it's just EA's subscription service on Steam. It's mentioned on the store pages because these games are also available through that.

If you mean if these games require the EA App, though… the answer is "no", regardless of whether you get them by buying the collection or through an EA Play subscription.

Do no Origin/EA App either? Cuz I bought Battlefield 1 on both Steam and EA's app, but only the EA one works because I cannot link the Steam purchase with my EA account since I technically already own it there.
One of the few things Ubisoft does very well. If you have a game on Ubisoft Connect and then buy it on Steam, you just get a second version unlocked on their app, but you can freely install and/or access whichever version you prefer. EA doesn't have that very nice feature.
