I mean, the graphics in these games don't scale. Increasing the resolution won't make anything "more high-resolution"; there are no higher resolution versions of the game's graphics. It'll just make everything smaller, and show more of the play field.
All you can do is find a nice middle ground between "too blocky" and "too small".
That's not something a fan-patch can do. The only way that'll happen is if it gets remastered.
On a 1080 P screen, something around 900P offers the best between unit visibility and zoomed out status.
On a 4K screen, 1080P is the best resolution to pick.
Turn off your anti-virus for a bit.
