Zoom?

Is there a way to zoom in or out? I've found a few ways to have full screen but everything gets so far and small, I'd rather play with black borders than with those resolution changes

This is a sprite-based game, so the graphics have a fixed size in pixels. This means your resolution is your zoom. You want stuff to look larger? Change to a lower resolution. It's as simple as that. I find something around 1024-1200 pixels wide to be a decent compromise between the default resolution and the "your units are smaller than ants" width of 1920 pixels.
