yeah not in C&C, i played too many other rts
C&C works on the principle that by default, you don't have anything selected. When you want to order troops around, you select them, give the orders, and immediately deselect them when you're done. Want a quick way to reselect them? Put them in a numbered team.
All of these "modern" RTS games have no quick and easy way to deselect troops at all, meaning you can very easily give accidental orders to the last group you gave orders to.
