Mods on Steam?

This is more directed at EA and relates to all classic Command and Conquer games.

Am I the only one who thinks that mod support should be added. Either total conversions as a separate game, like Skyrim and Enderal, or just simple Steam Workshop.

And if a Remaster is already planned (I hope it is planned) then the Workshop will probably going to be part of it, but the "new games" would be cool for mods like Mental Omega, Rise of the East etc.

EDIT Also maybe Engine Re-implementation like OpenRA and Thyme (Sage remake)
