The solution I found was to load back a previous save where I tried to avoid exploring the top and bottom edges of the map, after that I could load into the next mission without it crashing. Sounds like you'll just need to replay that mission while avoiding both the top and bottom as much as possible.
I had this happening constantly on the GDI mission with the hospital along with randomly failing the objectives as it took me a while to figure out the civilians were suiciding themselves into the Tiberium...
Additionally: Restarting your PC may also fix the issue when reloading into the next mission if it initially crashes. Hope it helps!
But yea I should get around to actually updating it for Steam...
