OK, DO NOT BUY THIS BUNDLE FOLKS.

The first few games did not run (brand new gaming rig) and instead locked up the rig that only a cold shutdown would resolve - no access to task manager or able to kill off the command and conquer task/app.

If you try and put in a refund request - it gets refused (as you cannot refund the bundle - only the single games) - and it refuses the refund as you never bought the single games, you bought the bundle.

Support request went in yesterday which returned a resoonse which is useless - asking us to goto EA to troubleshoot the games - there is no troubleshooting steps or help as all of the games are out of support.

It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grab for cash people. DO NOT BUY

These games are freeware, you can download the standalone version with built in patches that fixed the problems. This version is included in the bundle for completeness sake.

You can try this:

https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/releases

I didn't have the issue personally.

The fix was literally already posted...

But yea, as mentioned, the oldest three games are freeware, so if these versions don't work, you can just install them from the fan-patched packs.

Running on Windows 11 Home. I've still had the game crash randomly once or twice, but finding the C&C95.exe file and changing the compatibility mode to WINXP (service pack2) and run as administrator seems to have fixed the black screen/locking computer problem for me. The other thing that's been pretty consistent, is not running the game from steam, but rather just run the C&C95.exe.

Edit: Realised I never even tried to just run the exe without changing anything. Seems to work perfectly fine even without compatibility mode/admin.

if you want to run it from steam with overlay and screenshot/alt tab support, just use CNCdraw as mentioned above

https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/releases

and set the renderer to OpenGL.

I downloaded the zip file and extracted it to the game folder. Tried to start the game through Steam and also directly from C&C95.exe but the issue is still there. I guess I missed something crucial but what did I miss?

did you run "cnc-ddraw config.exe" after you unzipped it?
Is this linked to Nvidia cards?

I'm playing on a 7900GRE card and 5800X3D Processor with 32GB DDR4 Ram.

So far no issues at all.
