This is not Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection
This game was remastered altogether with Red Alert in 2020 by the folks that made it (now working at Petroglyph), with a whole overhaul, a good re-recording of the soundtrack by Frank Klepaki and a whole lot of love. It's still on Steam, but it's not this.

This is a fast cash grab with the old game as it was.

Do yourself a favor and go get this instead:

Oh by all means, buy the pack and enjoy it!

I just made this because C&C is sold at the shop for 19€ (now at 9€ during the sale) out of the bundle, and there's a far better version of it literally on Steam for EA to profit, but they didn't even care to try to avoid market confusion.

The game is only available on steam through the collection or a subscription, with almost the entire series included, so them releasing this particular game here isnt really a cash grab, right?

Heh what do you know, they just changed the price tag for the subscription option. You can still see it if you check the EA sale page. I guess they're correcting the mistake.
Yeah, I see the point of getting the whole series.

Actually... not really.

If you check the game's language options, you can see this edition has something even the Remaster never had.

It's available in Japanese.

So I'm guessing that means that unlike the collection on Origin, this is going to have absolutely all languages on all games. So that also means it'll have Spanish support on Tiberian Sun.

To compare, the Ultimate Collection on the EA App isn't even available in French. It only exists in English and German.

[edit]

Seems the EA App collection got updated with the same stuff that's on Steam.

Fine for me.

It’s only available as part of the bundle precisely because it’s otherwise free to play outside of Steam, and it’s more than playable on the Deck with almost zero messing about, unlike the remaster which tbh needs a keyboard. Find something real to complain about.

Yeah, it's freeware and getting this on steam means you're buying the bundle, which comes with this game so nothing wrong with playing it.

The Deck is sort of a perfect handheld device for this and RA1 too. They don't rely on the keyboard at all really, and stuff like attack ground you can bind to face buttoms. Reduce the trackpad sensitivity and off you go...

I've been dreaming about portable C&C for decades. I know that the remaster runs fine, at least when docked, but in handheld mode it's not exactly battery-friendly and much of the text is too small.

I bought the Bundle for Red Alert 2 and Generals so it's all good :D. I already have the remastered version of this game and that is excellent!

It's ok to want to enjoy the original in its original format on the platform of my choice.

Cash grab? What are you smoking? We wanted the originals, not the remaster.

Talk for yourself, with exception of breaking air strikes. The remaster is perfect.
