either one?

the fighting mechanics are different...it's whatever series you prefer...

I suck at fighting games but still LOVE playing them so I have both....

Kof, for sure! More characters!

My pick is Skullgirls, GGPO beats the netcode from SNK any day, the story is very solid, and it's easier to get into but extremely deep. It's very reset-heavy at higher levels, and the mixups get ridiculous. It's great fun.

That's not to say this game is bad, I've played the hell out of KOF XIII on consoles, and it has a very unique feel(a mixture of anime fighters and sf in a way), but it also has a HUGE execution barrier to get optimized combos down.

KOF has more content, but Skullgirls has a better online environment.

No one can tell you which game you will like more. SG and KOF are extremely different in every way.

I went from SG to this, but this is more my kind of fighter.

But you don't even need optimized combos. Even the easy stuff can win if your punishes are on point and your fundamentals are solid. There's quite a few people online I've seen who can bust out some pretty sick combos, but every other facet of their game is straight-up buttcheeks, so they lose miserably. Not that I'm a great player myself, but this kind of "oh it's soooo hard" talk doesn't help grow a playerbase.

Pick one and buy now. Buy the other one when it goes on sale.

Street Fighter :P

Buy this now and Skullgirls later when you have 14€ again (or even when Skullgirls is on sale).

This has always been the superior fighting game series better than tekken, street fighter dead or alive, and kof XIII is the best out of all kof games this is more than recomended if you are a fighter fan this is a must.

Tough call... Skullgirls is REALLY fun. Also, it's cool that they keep adding stuff to the game like new colors, balancing tweaks, and soon to come DLC characters.

Everyone is right, though, when they say they're really different. SG remined me a lot more of MvC2 with a hint of KI (ultra combo!!!). If you liked previous KoFs than you may be a big fan of this game. But I'd say what everone you decide to get, put the other on your wish list and wait for it to go on sale.

Don't buy Skull Girls, there will tons of paid dlc and base game has little content than KoF. Even character colour change is a PAID DLC in Skull Girls. They are milking people and don't reward them with buy those stupid dlcs.

KoF is an ultimate fighting game, complete edition and official EVO game. There is no reason to buy Skull Girls, it's more like a simple flash game as opposed to KoF.

I'm not trying to help grow the player base, he asked for a reccommendation so I gave mine. Not needing optimized combos and having fundamentals could be said about ANY fighting game. That doesn't change the fact that the execution in this game even on basic bnb combos is extremely high compared to other games.

And to LordofEntertainment you must not be paying attention to that game at all. Every character is free for a certain time period after they come out(a pretty long period btw), the colors as well. I supoported their IGG campaign and haven't paid for anything except for the beta access($30), yet I have all the content. So the earlier you buy the game the less you have to pay in the long run(assuming you enjoy it and want the extra characters they're making).
