How do you play KOF, keyboard, joypad or arcade stick?
I am using keyboard for now, is it good for beginners? or do I need to get a fancy arcade stick instead, in order to pretend that I am a bad ass gamer?

I used to play with just a keyboard, since gamepads are not to my liking in fighting games. But I got a Joystick for this game. It really helps (in my case) and really feels natural to do all the inputs.

In the end, you just go with what you feel is right, but be sure to get a good hardware.

Hm I use a fighting stick, mortal kombat one to be specfic. Though I am finding it an issue that it awkard to place on a small desk.(the stick is bigger then the laptop, probally bigger then some desktops.)

Keyboard warrior reporting.
Everything in this game is possible on keyboard, as it is essentially a hitbox with more buttons.
It's a little tough at first, but if you stick with it, you'll get used to it.

Yeah I don't doubt it is possible, though I image you need a keyboard of a quailty you'd take to a high level starcraft tournament to make it work.

Jesus christ look at you baddies, I only play the real way, with voice commands.

I use a Playstation 1 pad, and have used every Playstation controller (Playstation, DS, DS2, DS3, and DS4) with the game, and they all handle fine.

TE x360 stick is my choice

I sort of glad that king of fighters is a 4 button fighter since one of the flaws of the Mortal combat stick is while it has six buttons, they are placed a little awkwardly, you got two virticle rows of two buttons, one button in the center of the two rows and one button placed left corner of first row 2nd button.

I would definitely invest in a stick. It's awkward at first, but you will get used to it. I made the transition from controller to my Qanba Q4 about a month ago. Not only has my game gone up, its a lot more comfortable for longer gaming sessions.

Keyboard is perfectly viable.Even a crappy low end keyboard can be as competetive as joystick. Just make sure it's capable of simultaneous button presses for the keys you mapped it to.

I'm using a dirt cheap Acer keyboard that came with a pre-built Acer computer, and I've had good matches with Romance.

It all comes down to your style. Some people like using the whole hand to use the stick, some people have a good thumb for the d-pad, some people have nimble fingers.
