Insurgency is a video game with small/large maps played on a kind of team death match way which when your talking about things like fireteams I just don't see the point or a real way they could be used effectively. But if I had to make a guess at it I'd say a two man team would work best. One point, One rear moving like a snake.
That is not a CoD/CS:GO but a gamer mentality. If it works it will be done. As long as you can pull it off and get the job done there is no need to work with your team. And rushing in to kill some guys work quite good. Not always ofc but this is a video game. It is not like real life where you cant respawn.
5v5 for competitive since it's universally used and works well.
Try playing on servers without the spoonfeeding team indicators.
I feel that the community as much as they like the insult of "CoD player" seem to retain the same mentality that they acuse other of. All i can say is try playing more 16 slot servers instead of the run and gun modes in 32 slot. ( i suggest going to the STRIKE ONLY server on sundays, you will see people actually showing tactical play rather than the run and gun )
This doesnt make sense.. since a squad is made up of 2-3 fireteams. You make the fireteams smaller the squads normally get smaller.

If you want a thought experiment say you're playing Ambush, how many people would be ideal to stay with the VIP and how many would be ideal to move forward and clear? Keep in mind firepower vs maneuverability.
In strike, should every man be taking explosives? How many should be, and how do you ensure those without can pick up the explosives when someone dies?
