I think you're confusing the AK-47 (7.62×39mm Soviet), which has higher recoil and damage, with the AK-74 (5.45×39mm Soviet). The AKM is essentially the AK-47.

Okay, sorry then. Can you please provide some photos (preferrably not videos)? Bear in mind not to confuse paramilitaries or independent regions with diplomatically unrecognised militaries (e.g. Kurds in Iraq) with insurgents (e.g. Taliban).

i decided to add wikipedia link, but in english it's called ak-47. the article in russian uses correct mark (ak). as i understand western military uses it's own mark (ak-47) to emphasize the year it was designed. anyway, originally it was marked as AK (avtomat kalashnikova), but, actually, it doesn't realy matter
