The odd thing about this is a Google search shows posts on Reddit about other games using BattlEye that are also having issues like Arma 2 and War Thunder. But War Thunder works perfectly fine for me.
Edit: After multiple retries and messages between me and DeltaMike on how to actually initiate the fix, this is the procedure that worked for me:
1. Go to the file directory where Insurgency is installed. This can be done with the help of Steam. Right click on the game in your list of games, hover over Manage, then click Browse local files. This will take you to the game's directory on whatever drive you have it installed.
2. In the game's file directory, find the file named "BattlEye" and delete it.
3. Download the linked file (https://www.thearmorymod.com/downloads/BattlEye-Fix-Win11.zip) and open it. It will have a folder called "BattlEye". Extract the folder and drop it into Insurgency's file directory.
4. Do not launch Insurgency via Steam. Do not try to launch "insurgency_BE" from the directory either. Doing so will cause your computer to softlock, preventing normal shutdowns unless you force it, and eventually blue screen. What you should launch is "insurgency.exe" or the program just called "insurgency" in the game's directory. It should launch normally and enable you to play the game.
Is there a way to do this in Day of Infamy? I'm trying to fix it cuz it keeps blackscreening everytime I try and BattlEye's the culprit, but tryin to use the same instructions is not working and is confusing me. I've tried to even change the dayofinfamy_x64 to Insurgency_x64, which actually made it run, but still crashed as well as I -_-
Edit: I left dayofinfamy_BE as is I just changed that name, dunno wat else I can add but jus ask. I also Uninstalled the OG BattlEye before throwing in DeltaMike's patched version and just running the BE launcher, it still came up and opened so I assumed that it still worked. Will try leaving the OG BattlEye before patching it to see if there's any change
Editit: It...... Worked!?! I...I don't even know wat to say, it worked. I figured it out and will be posting an updated Discussion on the page soon. What I did was: install battlEye normally (as u would a normal startup fresh install and the BattlEye Popup comes up). after delete the BattlEye folder or just replace the files in the folder and Rename the game directory to insurgency_x64. This also works when using the app icon from Steam so you don't have to open up your file folder everytime you wanna play. A hundred thousand thank you's to DeltaMike for posting the BattlEye patch. I thought I lost this game when it wasn't playing properly and I screwed up my PC a couple months ago. I'll be on the servers tonite thanks to you sir
Update: It worked for a lil bit, played like 10 mins of stronghold then turned it off an went for dinner. When I came back on it didn't work again fml -,_,-
I will be updating my first comment with the procedure I did to make mine work for Insurgency. What I did was apply the fix by putting DeltaMike's BattlEye folder into my Insurgency directory after deleting the original folder that was there. Then I launched insurgency.exe.
