AKM always unless weight is an issue.

M16 at low points. I switch them out frequently depending on what I'm doing and weight at higher points, but I normally use the M4 if I have a lot of points. Honestly though, I think some people are better off with the M16. I know they want the full auto, but does the full auto want them, y'know? Some people play worse with the M4 because they can't use the full auto well.

M16 is good for everything unless you miss a lot at close range I guess. At long range, the M16 is definitely better due to the recoil on the burst being very small, and better damage/drop-off compared to the M4. At mid-close, either works.

M4 is slightly lighter and full auto mainly. Being able to shoot without pause makes it good for laning and suppression which is useful in a situation when you just have to waste a magazine into the same spot really fast. The main reason for me is that it is lighter, and being a 30 rounds full auto rifle makes it good for hipfire.

The M4 isn't much better or worse than the M16 on the whole, but it is the only 30 round full auto rifle for the classes that have access to it, which is what makes it useful.

I perfer stopping power and and accuracy over recoil and fire-rate so i am going to have to go with the AKM and the M16

I found that the recoil on the AKM in full auto is significantly more than with the AK-74, so would the stopping power and accuracy of single shot compensate for its lack of laning / cqc suppression?

the AKM costs nothing and the foregrip is the same price as an AK-74, so long story short you get more firepower + way more recoil control for extremely cheap

AKM and m16 are direct upgrades in every possible way

It should be AKM vs ak74su, since those are the 2 best insurgent weapons.

AKM superior rifle
M16 other superior rifle

AK-74 forever

AKM on insurgents due to it being cheaper. On security its a harder question these days since the massive m16 nerf. It didn't even use to be a question but if you can only choose m4 or m16 then I guess you have to ask if you prefer auto or semi auto. M16 gets out shadowed by a lot by the AC556 and A1L1 now, even though you didn't ask to compare it to them.

You will need the foregrip. They both shoot fine so I don't factor their firing characteristics much. It's mostly about the AKM damage being superior to the ak-74. I don't know if maybe I've subconsciously gotten used to dragging my mouse to compensate for the recoil of the AKM, but it doesn't bother me.

M16 ftw. Full auto mode is not necessary for most guns in this game (in my opinion). As long as your aiming is good you can drop enemies with 1-3 bullets. If you fire in full auto you'll probably miss a few shots anyway. I also dominate enemies which are equiped with AKS-74u and AKM using the semi auto mode on my M16 in CQB.

I'd say AKM for damage, M4 for firing rate. I prefer close to mid range encounters, and the M4 excels at that.
