No way
Is it worth getting a pistol in general? eeehhh imo not really.
For the best economical value, Makarov since it's cheap but has a short mag. It could be remedied with the extended mags which if you include AP would be equal to an M9 with AP for damage.
For best damage on hit, the M45A1 has pretty good damage since it's the largest pistol caliber in game. However the recoil does make it a bit unwieldly with the AP and extended mag I guess it could be a logical step up from the M9 but for me the recoil is a hard sell.
For best capacity, definitely the M9 since it has the most ammo for the price of a supply point. However it's best used with specialized ammo.
Though untested, I think the Model 10 holds up from most games I've played. Though recommended with the speed loader. It does packs in damage in a small magazine. Model 10 is a toss up if you want a cheap version of a M45 with damage and a low mag cap.
For the weight regardless of class, definitely have a sidearm some in handy since it could save you from awkward moments when you have to shoot someone and you run out. Even if it's a cheap Makarov without modifiers, have more ammo on you is pretty key.
Otherwise, I have to respectfully disagree with you, Shooter-90. Sidearms add to your weight, after all, which equals to a reduced movement speed. One or two AP-rounds from an AK or an M-16 is enough to finish the job most of the time anyway - and if you don't spray too much, you shouldn't run into too many problems.
Though, on the other hand, I agree with Shooter90 in modes like Push, especially when you're on defenders side.
When i do use pistols i prefer the m9 or makarov for the lack of recoil compared to the model 10 and the .45's. I can pump accurate rounds fast with the 9mm's whereas the .45 will jump just a bit too high on its second and third shots.
Now if i'm not in a quick shoot situation the .45's can be fun to use. I typically run them in coop but pvp its the 9mm everytime.
As for attachments: ap rounds. flashlight if on a night map. I don't bother with suppressors since the supply is better used on my primary and laser sights are just worthless.
Go with the mak w/hp ammmo (you should be firing at a range so close, you can avoid their armored points/ shoot them in the face).
Chances are the thread is going to be locked, it's old and has been dead for a while.
