Server is not responding

Hi everybody. I just want to play coop with my friend against bots. I create coop game which is checkpoint and when my friend try to connect he gets that annoying server is not responding error. What can i do to play ?

Unblock the game in your firewall, antivirus/antimalware and router. Forward ports 27005 and 27015 both UDP (if you have a router). And you have to type "sv_lan 0" into the console as listenserver is LAN by default.

I just did what you said but still getting that annoying error. Any suggestion ?

Make sure your friend is trying to connect to your public ip address (and not the private one).

He tried both public and private and he gets connection lost error now. I don't understand why he can't connect my game when i created coop game.

Same issue.

In all other Steam games, I can join/invite my friends in coop' games, but the only one that cause this issue is Insurgency.

It's really bad to say to friends that it's a nice game and that we can make some coop' missions and being blocked by this not solved issue.

If the developper come across this topic, please, make this fix soon, it's really not cool.

Hi,

I've already done all of this, but nothing change. These changes are not necessary in any other games in Steam or any other plateform. Only on Insurgency.

That's really annoying to being obligated to make different modifications only for one game, and don't have anything funtionnal after that, especially for a game that is majorly developped for cooperative action.

Steam and game not blocked in firewall, and the ports are open. Everything is done. But this issue happenning only in Insurgency. If that coming from my configuration or my friend's one, we can't play on any games, but it's not the case. All other games work correctly in coop' mode.

Unfortunatly, I have the game for too long and used it more than two hours in solo mode for asking for refund. And the worst is that I paid another copy for gift it to a friend for cooperation, and we just can't play even after checking all these informations.

I'm actually searching for a similar game that don't give any issue for cooperative game, Insurgency is nice and great, but this issue completely kill the interest I have for it, and visibly, after all the topics created about this issue and considering other games don't need any manipulations for playing with friends, you seems to don't want to get a look at this and find why the game cause this issue that never appear on any other games, i said it again. So, I leave the game back and I will find another one.

"Server is not responding" means that either you or the server have blocked connection, this have nothing to do with particular game as much as with your or server's settings.

Some routers are blocking certain ports but not all of them. If you have automatic firewall it may block some apps and others not. Same with AV and other settings. As well as it can be because you accidentally hit "block" in firewall message.

Being offensive and trying to manipulate with Us by saying that you want to play other games will not help you in any way in fixing your problem.

As it seems that you came here only to manipulate Us, I'm locking this for unnecessary necro.
