BAD SERVICE VERSION

2500+ hours in this game, been playing since 2014, never had this issue. Game takes literal minutes to start up (battleye service being the issue), then I get on a server and get kicked for "Bad service version", sometimes multiple times. @Arc get someone to fix this please.

Have you verified integrity of game files? Just saw your post, anybody with your hours in game deserves a faster answer....my apologies, I'll check back later

I verified everything a million times, reinstalled BE, all for nothing anyway

Shoot them a ticket, should be picked up by the new Customer Support team, which I'm no longer part of (as much as I'm no longer member of the company that is).

Though from what I could find on them internets about this error message is something to do with BattlEye service being corrupted or some such (interfered with by other apps and drivers, etc.).
Perhaps mismatch of service version between different BE enabled games.

So did you play any other BE games prior to launching Insurgency ?

Did you try restarting your computer?

Try a clean reinstall of ins2. After you uninstall, make sure the ins2 folder is deleted, if not, delete it yourself. Back up "config.cfg" in *\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\cfg before you do anything.

Yeah I have the same issue. Verified integrity, uninstalled and reinstalled BattlEye countless times, deleted the game and reinstalled it even and still it wouldn't work.

It worked for me finally.

Delete the game, and make sure to delete also Insurgency folder in \steamapps\common\insurgency2. Make sure to backup "config.cfg" in *\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\cfg before deleting. DOWNLOAD the game, don't restore from previous backups. Restart your PC before you play it again cause it will also kick you out of the game saying "Bad service version".

Some forums advice to check another BattlEye folders on ur PC and delete them. I mean maybe you have other games that use BattlEye, and ur Insurgency's BattlEye think that different BattlEye folders of another game is for Insurgency. Bit it didn't help me, anyway.

Sure it's for R6S, but it might still help you out with INS (both use battleye).
