How to play with Mac?
Before I start this question, yes, I know: mac is not the perfect computer for gaming, but I'm living away from my home and I don't have my gaming PC atm, so I want to play the OG Insurgecy.

I'm currently using Big Sur, and Steam says it can't be run since it's not 64-bit, which doesn't make sense since Insurgency has 64 bit support.
So how can I run it on my mac?

There was a way to launch different executable on Windows through BE but i'm not sure if that'll work on MacOS.
Otherwise launch the appropriate executable file through terminal.

Tried Launching the insurgency_osx64, failed missing dependency. I think libgcc2 [don't quote me on this] , which was present. Will give it another shot and report on the error. Thank you for your reply.

Hi arc , this is the machine through which i failed to launch the game.
The game seems to be looking for the bin files in local folder /usr/local/lib

Should I symlink it to the insurgency/bin/osx64 directory ?

No idea, never had a Mac device of me own and NWI never supplied it to me either, so my kniwledge about this sphere is practically nonexistent.

Try to search throuch this board, some people likely posted solution to this Mac issue (or it might be on Day of Infamy board)

You could install linux for mac. and run the linux native game. You may have to install the 32 bit libraries on the linux. not sure.

Steam has it listed as not 64 bit even though Insurgency (2014) is 64 bit. This is a mistake on Steam's part. Download it and play it. It runs great on Apple Silicon.

FEB 21, 2023 - "Linux 6.2 is up and running on M1 Macs but still missing many key features"

Its a pretty big deal because Macos/IOS is based in unix, same as linux and android. So this new kernel has Mac support, maybe just a matter of time to work out some graphics, network or audio drivers. Then anything linux runs(Steam, Proton, Windows games) should run on the Apple hardware. If I owned a Mac M1 I would probably search for a early build and install, test. When they get steam, with HW acceleration working, you get Proton, and all the games working.

Heres the guy porting it. https://asahilinux.org/
