Binary blobs in Steamapps/Workshop are the ones being downloaded by the Steam and the insurgency2/insurgency/custom (or maps) are those unpacked from these blobs by the game as that's where legacy workshop (VPK and BSP respectively) items were located.
It is the way the system works.
I am subscribed to quite a number of theatres and have noticed even when I am not running a particular theatre for my solo games ,that residual elements like replacement character models and map loading screen bottom rhs icon still show up?-could this be the culprit?
(Is there a command to flush the cache, not sure if that is the right expression and then in console reload my subscribed workshop mods, like the game does when it starts up -or is this line of reasoning irrelevant?)
Some servers will not allow client-side mods as they are running in pure mode (sv_pure 1/2).
Then you may have conflicting mods, too many mods so some won¨t load, the mod may be broken, etc.
I don't know, never tried modifying VPK while being subscribed to it.
The mod should load without subscription, or you can extract it from VPK, maybe it helps.
Where then do i put the .vpk ?
Also if I extract the vpk do i make a new folder structure ,and if so where is this put?
Also how many pages of mods is too many,I am subscribed to 8 big theatres where some are like 3 gigs each ,couple might be smaller ?And about 3 pages of mods (just checked-recently culled them a bit ,did have 5 pages)) I think in total including these,is that too many?(just checked my workshop folder 222880 is 29.7gig)
[Culled a bit more stuff ,now my workshop folder is 22.9gig ,running much better adding
new small mods that are working and my problem HAMR Scope from before has stabilized and is now always present.I think the size of my mods previously was too great.]
