Galil vs ak74

Why is galil (3 points) costlier than most guns like ak74,m16(1-2 points) . More killing power ? higher fire rate?

You use the galil for when you want somthing stronger than the ak74, but weaker than the akm. The ak74 with ap rounds, a grip, and the gun itself costs 6 points, while a galil with just a grip costs 5. The AKM is the strongest of the guns, especially since it's free.

I recommend the galil, unless you're trying to be ultra light or stealthy. The galil is a good gun, and is often looked down apon by the community.

The Galil has 35 rounds in the magazine and can use the drum mag on certain roles, but aside from that the performance difference is pretty unnoticeable. It's pretty expensive for what it offers, and if you want efficiency, you're wanting the AKM.

Its got a pretty ♥♥♥♥ iron sight though , I think that's why its looked down upon apart from the cost

Galil outputs higher damage at the cost of higher recoil. AK-74 has a higher rate of fire, lower recoil, but less damage.

A trade off, but I prefer Galil with a suppressor. Just like the sound of it.

You guys talk pros and cons of each gun..but let's be real..the differences are so insignificant, that most of the time the better player will win regardless of what primary he'll use. Positioning, map knowledge, proper use of explosives are far more important in Insurgency (Day of infamy too) than the choice between a galil and an ak47.

Lower recoil. Also people die in 1-2 ap shots most of the time so auto is not mandatory. I really like m1 carbine with the extended magazine and despite not being an auto rifle I am doing fine on most games, being among the first 3 people on the board. I think playing day of infamy might have helped with that however.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it. Especially on the Insurgent side as AP ammo still costs 3 points.

Cheaper guns do the Galil's job far better.

Galil does more damage without ap rounds. As an insurgent, you can get a galil, a m1911, a frag, and light armor, but with an ak74, you're short one supply point.

I mean, if you're buying Insurgent Light Armor you're already wasting points that could be better spent on AP or Heavy Armor. M1911 isn't really a smart choice either.

Also, a Galil, M1911, Frag and Light Armor adds up to eight supply. Not ten.
