How Does Kick Ban Work?

I joined an official coop server on Verticality, and as I reached point A, an Insurgent walked down the hill to my right at the edge of the screen. I flicked over to try and kill the bot, but a teammate got it before me. Next thing I know I'm getting votebanned and when I type in chat, a guy says "NO CHEATING" then I was booted before being able to defend.

Im not gonna call out this dude because he instant votekicked me out, but I cant rejoin the same server (Toronto #9 Coop Hardcore - map has changed and its been about 30 min since). Its not a big deal since other servers exist, but I dont know whether this is permanent or temporary.

This ban is not temporary. People use this "votekick" to kick afk players, spammers, or other idiots. Being banned for no reason happens to everyone at some point. No, the ban is not permenant. Don't worry, its not like a VAC ban or anything. Hell, you can usually rejoin the server immediately. If being votekicked bugs you, as it does most people, get on Pandora and listen to "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift.

If you get vote kicked, you can join back almost immediately.

If you get vote kicked twice in the same server, it's usually a temporary ban.

If you get vote kicked once for Trolling/hacking it's usually a temporary ban.

These bans are not permanent and only the server admins could see if you were banned or not. They're just there to try and keep unwanted players away. Whoever they may be at the time. Unfortunately it was you this time.

A vote ban lasts for 20 minutes.

Kick is something you can rejoin right away while the ban differs dependent on the server that you are on.
