Unable to load Steam support library. This server will operate in LAN mode only.
I'm running a Windows dedicated server. I have 3 production servers and 1 test server. After updating my 3 production servers I now receive "Unable to load Steam support library. This server will operate in LAN mode only.". My test server continued to start up just fine. I updated it and now it has the same issue.

I've searched and tried a few generic fixes. Restarted the server, verified server files with SteamCMD, verified steam_appid.txt exists and has the correct appid. Also tried deleting HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam\ActiveProcess (which does not exist).

I haven't seen anyone else mention this after the patch so I guess this is an isolated incident.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Thanks,

Dewayne

Sorry, I should have put this in Server Admin Support.

Steam download f*ckup. Either delete whole server and redownload it or delete bin folders (both of 'em). That should do the trick. For some reason it won't properly update even after multiple verification of files if you do not delete it.

So far you are the second or third user with this error.

Tried a clean install with no sourcemod or anything.

Any fix for this? Tried searching for it but the ones that showed up didnt't help either.

I deleted my entire "HKCU\Software\Valve" registry and the problem was solved. :squirtyay:
