Client timed out
I have been getting this weird issue all night where I time out randomly from a game and then cannot connect to any game again, even the training mission, until I verify cache. It always finds 3-4 files, and does not tell me what they are. This fixes it, but it takes up to 15 minutes to verify cache on this computer so its a huge issue. Any idea what else I should try?

I have the same issue. Win 7 x64. Tried deleting steam.dll, steamui.dll and renaming .blob file. Running as admin. Disabled Avast... Getting the disconnected message after 10-15 min playing.

Real annoying... I haven't felt like playing Ins for a couple of months, but now that I wanted to - this happens. -.-'

I'm not sure why, but I've noot been having this problem since the last update. Win 7 Pro x64
Both my Vista 64 and my Win 7 64 computers are still experiencing this issue. Nothing has changed.
Let's play Jeopardy guys!

Because of this disconnecting bug, many fans of Insurgency are not allowed to play what?

I figured out you dont need to verify the game cache everytime anymore. You can just sit at the main menu after you time out for around 5-7min. You can then join a server and play till you time out again

Is there any words from the devellopers acknowledging this problem and trying to fix it?

Page 6 (In Steam)

It is way easier to read these threads in a browser but i may appear on a different page.
If you haven't yet, UPDATE YOUR OS. This was the fix for me on Win 7 Pro.

Go to Control Panel, System and Security, Windows Update then on the left, Check for Updates.

This fixed it for me. Running as Admin, Veryfing Cache, Renameing files and restarting steam, none of this worked for me.

Otherwise wait for devs to do something, they are trying so be patient.

I am running windows 8.1 on my brand new Alienware 17 and I bought this game on the night of the 18 and played it for 2 hours then went to bed. I got home from work the next day and updated it now it doesnt work. I spent all yesterday trying every fix I could find but to no avail. I have re-installed, updates windows, verified my game cach, lowered my graphics settings, installed a new set of drivers, made an exception in my mcafee firewall and tried disabling it all together to play and more. When I first open up steam I can sometimes get in a game for 3 or so minutes until I am kicked and get the timed out message. I bought this game and have only been able to play it 2 hours, and this game was fun a ♥♥♥♥ but now I cant play it and I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are my specs.

Model: Alienware 17 Base
CPU: Intel Core i7-4710MQ processor
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 M290X with 4GB GDDR5
8 gigs of RAM

I'm having the problem too. It usually happens after ~10 minutes. If I quit the game and launch it again right away, the problem still happens. If I wait ~10 minutes it works again for another 10 minutes.

Running as administrator allowed me to play for 20-30 minutes before getting the error again. I think this was just a coincidence, I don't think running as admin really helped anything (I need to try again to see how long I can play when running as admin, I only tried once so far)

As another user said, I think it might be an issue with the steam servers - I think they might try to authenticate you or at least refresh some part of the connection between you and them every 10 minutes ; sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. When it works you can keep playing for 10 more minutes, when it fails you get the time out and have to wait 10 minutes to try again. I could be wrong, but that's where I would look.

My specs:
Windows 7 (x64)
AMD Phenom II x4 3.4 GHz
6GB RAM (DDR2)
GeForce GTS 250

Hope the devs can get us a fix soon, or that Valve get their stuff together and fix their broken servers!
Having same problem.
Due to client timed out, I cannot play anymore.:KneelingBow:

OS: vista 32
still getting timed out messages.
What do?

It works on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ultrabook, so its not an account issue. (but having 20 fps on intel hd4400 is unplayable..)

MAY HAVE FOUND A FIX!

Ok so first of all I enabled UAC again and restarted. Then I used this page https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638 to refresh my steam files. Next I opted in for the new steam beta client update. Restart after doing that. Last thing I did was set steam to use TCP over UDP protocol using this page https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5623-QOSV-5250

I have been playing for over an hour and have yet to recieve a client time out error. Will still be testing this all night.

edit: Got a client time out error so there goes that
