Have you ever had gun sounds on the computer you're playing on now? When was the last time they worked?
What are your in-game audio settings set at, quality level and which speaker type? Did you try changing the settings to something different and see if that worked?
What version of which operating system are you using? 32 or 64 bit?
What are your other hardware specs? Processor, ram, videocard, motherboard and or sound card. Which driver are you using for your sound card or onboard sound?
Are your speakers plugged into the correct (probably green) port? Depending on your sound card and settings, different ports can be responsible for different sounds in a multichannel speaker setup.
Have you updated your sound and video drivers recently and or tried manually reinstalling vcredist_x86 / x64 from the \steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\ folder.
When you run DXDIAG from the run menu in windows, are there any sound conflicts?
Before you reinstalled did you make sure to delete the Insurgency folder for the game in case some leftover file or setting was causing your problem? You might try to back up and then rename/remove the \steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\cfg folder (which i think should delete all your settings) and see if that fixes the problem. (You may have to re-check the cache afterword.) You may also want to disable steam cloud sync as your config settings might be stored there? (right click Insurgency in steam, Properties, Updates. Steam cloud is at the bottom.)
Hopefully something in there helps.
EDIT: Someone also suggested deleting the steam cloud related files (but back them up first): they are located in \steam\userdata\<Steam User ID>\222880\" (Especially the files in \remote\cfg\)
EDIT2: Also, you may want to post which country you are playing from. Maybe the sound files for a certain localization of the game are broken?
Ok, first of all thank you very very much for replying to me :D
I used to have gun sounds before the last update.
I have set everything on default setting on the game + have tried different types of speakers on the game (none of them working)
I have windows 8 :3 64 bit.
Sound + Video drivers up to date (I have notifications for when i need to update them so i do that asap every time)
I am playing on a laptop so no external speakers (i could try plugging some though to see if its working) . Also, I am playing from Greece
:O I also gotta say. My console on the game shows some messages about missing sounds after today's update (which is actually true, i got sound files missing). Console never shoed those messages about missing soudns before today's update (25/3)
I will post asap exactly what it says
EDIT: when i go no a server i see this on my console:
Updating player list, server change
env_cubemap used on world geometry without rebuilding map. . ignoring: maps/door/door03

Your best bet at the moment would probably be to give exact steps to reproduce the problem and see if anyone else can confirm it. That should tell us whether its a bug in the most recent patch, or a bug with something on your system.
There were a couple of sound-related suggestions in this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/222880/discussions/1/618456760271156245/ with Arc recommending to delete the \insurgency2\insurgency\insurgency_sound.vpk.sound.cache, and restart both steam and the game. Then LEWD_ recommended typing "snd_restart" into the console without the quotes and seeing if maybe that would fix it.
It sounds more like a bug with the game, or your install of the game, rather than a problem with your drivers or sound card though. If you provide more instructions on how to specifically reproduce the problem, i can check later to see if i also have a similar issue. But would need to know which class, which weapon, which map, and single or multiplayer testing.
It happens with both single and muti player. All maps. All weapons. All classes. All servers :P
I can only hear my gun.
Ps. I tried a sound pack some time ago and i could hear more guns than mine. I guess i heard the guns that were included on the soundpack. Uninstalled it though for the sake of finding a real way out of my problem
so today i verified the cash (for the 100th time) and it found 2 files missing.
Downloaded them again and seemed like i had gunsounds for some minutes. After that they magically disappeared again ._.

Thank you I just tried it but no good outcome.
I sitll have no gunsoudns. In addition to that, i'm back to default settings and all my key bindings are lost.. I'll re-install the game once more and see what happens
Yea, maybe I need to give a warning about that, just because its obvious to me, doesn't mean it is to everyone else..
Have you tried restoring defaults for your sound?
I have no idea what it's called in Win8, so here's a google search picture..

(Restore Defaults)
Just to be sure, you have also tried changing the "Sound Quality" (in-game), right?
yup couple of times. and the sound output thingy (im not sure if thats what its called). Ive changed it many times from 2-4 speakers to headset and all
I'm afraid i don't :P
I only have basic knowledge of computers
