Insurgency

Insurgency

View Stats:
Mouse Acceleration is on, even when turned off in settings
Issue:
I get some mouse accelleration (both positive and negative) in the game even though my OS, Mouse, and the Game all have it disabled. Raw Mode, etc.

This is particularly noticeable when lying prone and looking left-right. There is actually about a 2x Negative accel at that time. (i.e. The faster you move your mouse, the LESS it moves)

I can go through all the modes and mark where accel is obvious if that will help, but this is seriously messing with my aim, and prevents this from being a competitive game.

Specs:
AMD 8-core, 8gb ram, Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, Raid-0 SSD

Tested on:
Win8, Win7, XP, Linux(using WINE)

Used Mice:
Mionix Naos
Logitech g300
Dell Cheapo Optical
HP Cheapo Optical
Generic Ball (because why not be sure?)

Mouse accel was turned OFF in OS, Mouse driver settings (where applicable), Mouse Firmware (NAOS), and in the game itself. Tested and confirmed NO accel in TF2, and OS.

Bug seems to have been present in all updates. I have been playing since before Molotov.

I have also seen others complain about this:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/222880/discussions/0/648814843431917647/

And perhaps related is:

HOWEVER, I know this is disabled in WINE, yet I still get accel there too.

I am open to any and all troubleshooting suggestions. I will ignore and flag any unhelpful responses. This is a serious and legitimate issue in any FPS game.

Finally, before I start sounding like an ingrate, I have to aknowledge and thank the Programmers and Staff that make Insurgency happen. It's a great game, and thats why this bug is so annoying. If it was a crap game, no one would care.

I also got this, until I disabled "raw input" in options. Now I have linear movement with no acceleration (i have Logitech g500S mouse).

so "raw" isn't? I never thought to turn raw mode off, as that usually causes it.

I'll check back and see. Thanks for the input.

I noticed today that my mouse still has negative acceleration, but only in the prone position, no matter what I do with the settings...

By this I mean if I move the mouse quickly, my aim moves a short distance on screen, and if I move the mouse slowly, the aim moves a larger distance on screen (for the same distance travelled across my mouse mat) .

this is done by prone mechanic of aiming, but yea it's annoying like hell

These startup parameters helped me:
-noforcemaccel -noforcemprams -noforcemspd

Could be worth a try.
