Game won't start

I check my fire wall antivirus and today the game won't play now this is a first what is going on?

My game is freezes just after basic interface starts (no news loaded, no stats)

Go in your Steam folder and navigate to steamapps/common/insurgency2 and right click on insurgency.exe and run it in Windows 7 mode. If you change settings and it breaks again, delete config.cfg in the insurgency folder. If all else fails, wait for hotfix.

I'm having the same issue since the update today. Game loads into main menu but none of the elements in the sub panels load. Just circular loading icons and a sound loop. Cannot click any of the buttons in the main menu. Can't even exit the game or alt-tab out. Seems to be a hang.

Ok I verified DLC says 4 files can not be verified am going for reinstall will let youall know how it goes.

Checking contents integrity and reloading these 4 files gave nothing for me

Same thing here, after the update the game hangs on the main menu with audio looping. File integrity verification didn't help me either.

Same problem for me!!! We need a flash fix for that!!!!
game freeze at the intro page when try to loading the stats....
checked cache several times... all files are ok....

Ok here is what I found using AVG I used to have to allow after every update now I have to turn AVG off and it loaded and worked fine.

Update: The game starts after deleting the cfg folder in steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency and letting Steam reload the default settings by verifying the integrity. However after modifying the settings, the game hangs again. I'll need to try and find out which setting causes the game to hang.

EDIT: Well, this trick worked for the first time but doesn't help anymore.

Some for me. I verified, even deleted the whole game and reinstalled from Steam.
I get stuck at the main screen with the music stuck in a 1 second loop. When it gets like that, I can barely kill the game as the Windows task manager won't respond to my mouse clicks. I have to Log Out of Windows 8.

I have windows 8 too, when you open the task manager you must navigate through the keyboard, use tab to have the game selected then press tab three more times then press space.

I've managed to shut down freezing games by clicking once on the task manager icon in the taskbar and then pressing the down arrow until I see the "Not responding" process through the small preview window and then pressing delete and enter.

win8 for me too.... and same problem... task manager work only trough keyboard...
