Sandstorm:Supresser and scope removal
I was watching some homefront gameplay(♥♥♥♥ game) and I noticed you could modify your weapon while in game. Makes no sense in that game but in Insurgency it would come in handy. Imagine being able to take your 7x off to capture a close quarter objective. Or remove the soda can for tight spaces. It would be real nice for a map like sinjar push where half the team is sniping.

That's silly and the fastest way to lose all your zero-ing on your optic.
Unless you wanna re-attach that ACOG and not hit ♥♥♥♥ afterwards.

Remove optics in combat is obviously suboptimal for zeroing issues. However, it is not entirely unreasonable to allow for removable suppressors. Though for the time being, it is still somewhat pointless since suppressors do not lower damage at all.

Well, there are balance issues. If you can remove and attach a scope 24/7, you can pretty much dominate people from any range with the M16.

This was discussed before, it's a balance issue. If NWI wanted to make it realistic, it would not be zero'd properly after you take off your sights.

I mean, I heard some sidemounted optics can keep their zero-ing after removal (or it could be another myth like AK reliability). But nonetheless still stupid. Most sidemounted optics allow for you to use the iron sights if you need them. That means you can use your sights if you so please, but you will have a giant metal mass blocking your upper view. Far more balanced.

Anyway, how tf do you want to aim without an optic? Look at your M4s and M16s, you want to aim with just a front sight post?

This is sandstorm we are talking about. You have used the m16 in sandstorm?
Bolth teams would have this ability so its no more unbalanced then it all ready is.
Akm on single and 2x is not that bad.
But ok... I thought it would be a fun feature.

It's not unbalanced across teams. It's unbalanced across optics.

Optics are made such a way so that the higher up you go, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you are in CQB. What you're saying means allowing players to circumvent that.

And look at the glue on rail on your AKs. Do you think you can ADS with them? Better start hoping for backup iron sights and sidemounted optics.
