M27 IAR?

Considering this weapon has replaced the m249 on the squad level for the marines, I am quite surprised that I have seen no discussions about it here on the forums, nor are there any proper skins for it (yes there's HK416's, but not the heavy barreled IAR).

I am speaking of this weapon

It is essentially a HK416 rifle fitted with a long, heavy barrel to allow for more sustained fire and accuracy in fully automatic.

Way I see it, this would work pretty well in game as a 2 point option for the security support class if it worked this way.

Weight: Just above the m16
Recoil: Lowest of any 5.56mm weapon in the game (to reflect the heavy barrel and accuracy of this weapon and to keep it from simply being another m4)

Special Attachments: Drum Mag (2) - adds a 100 round beta C-Mag to the weapon.
Default Attachments: Bipod

You are talking that someone replaced light machine gun with an assault rifle? What's the point?

An assault rifle is almost never used in fully automatic becuase the barrel on them is too light to be used like that effectively.

The M27 has a thick bull barrel for being fired in fully automatic, and is an extremely accurate weapon, currently the most accurate weapons US Marines have in their squad.

The m249 was supposedly not accurate and was a heavy weapon. US Marines are light infantry in that they aren't with a vehicle throughout their patrols. This means reducing weight is key. The idea is that since the m27 is much lighter and more accurate, it would be more effective for the Marines' role. They believe that 1 hit right by the enemy would be a lot more suppressing than many bullets that do not hit close.

For the type of fighting that is done in the middle east right now, urban door-to-door fighting, the m27 is superior to the m249 as it can be used to clear rooms like a normal assault rifle, something the m249 is very lacking in.

Anyway this is a basic overview, I'm not a military tactician.
