3
3 hours long
The game is 3 hours long. Very clever for preventing refunds.

I just thought some folks might want to know that before buying this game. In its current state I really can't say I can suggest it.

There's some neat ideas here though and if the game was more fleshed out then maybe. But it just ends at 3 hours and that was at slow speed.

You can always try "challenge"... i build now only 1 fraction type of building (ofc if i must build other i will build) but try concentrated on 1 "fraction". Start game in different place where you need different tactic for start and progress... or wait for release where you get 2 new era and maybe sandbox

Ah thanks for the warning but in my opinion, this early access game is addictive for the current $21 price tag.

Yeah, I see the bones of something good here. Maybe if there were more maps, or generated maps, or something else to increase the play time of the game.

Niebieski - that's true you could.

Crazy8Chief - It is indeed a cheaper title and that is a saving grace of it, but people should still be aware that it is a very very short game. City builders typically have been longer type games almost evergreen type games. So this time limit gate keeps you from really pushing the limits of your city.

I suppose that's sort of a benefit with the limited resources. Though I also found it weird that you only ever get one warehouse type building to store stuff with.

I want to like this game, it's more of a "not right now" kind of thing.

It is very bare bones right now. I don't hate the game - eras are too quick, in my opinion. You barely get things figured out and you're all but forced into a new era. I think the game should be stretched longer but, it is early access. I am sure new things will come.

1 and a half playthroughs and I have 10 hours, so approx 6-7 hours a playthrough? did you constantly keep it playing or did you ever stop and think about what you're doing? this game to play right makes liberal use of the pause button

You're over exaggerating because you're upset about something. Pretty low. I just played a game and I have it on double speed, and took a little longer than 3 hours.

Why lie?

Three starts sofar and trying to beat my score (which is one of the challenging objectives) and still yet too try different starting areas to challenge myself further, perhaps games like this are'nt for you if you can't look past a single play through.

Thanks for the warning. This is the information I was looking for.

I had heard that the game cuts out after 3 hours and wanted to confirm it. (The devs should tell you about this before you buy). I'm not sure if it's worth waiting or buying it now, because it's nice and original.

The game lasts for everyone different, having one person tell you it takes 3 hours wouldn't be my number one info source. I have had 6 hours in it and many more to go before i am finished.

"3 hours" does not sound great, "6 hours in it and many more to go" sounds great. So that 6 hours and more to come is in one city, correct ?
The option to keep playing in an era will also add extra time, question is then if it stays interesting to grow your city.
All going well I'll buy the game after today's patch so let me know how things go with the patch.

Ofcourse it all depends how you play, i take my time to push the city the way i like it, pause to look around, read all the info or just enjoying the city. Not sure how long it would take me if i would play without that approach.

My 3 hours that I mentioned here is if you do the quests as they pop up and thus it moves you through the eras and then you quickly reach "The End of Early Access" and it drops you to the main menu of the game leaving a rather empty feeling.

So with this option in today's patch to keep playing in the middle ages era instead of getting that "game over" message, would you think it adds additional fun to keep playing or do you feel the game has finished anyway by that stage if nothing "new" comes and you keep playing and expanding with what's available.

Well to be fair, this thread was created before today's patch. I do feel that if you're able to continue to play and perfect your city that it does change the game significantly.

Super, thanks, I will probably buy the game then.
