I am experiencing chashes

Not only does mine not crash, I also don't go out of my way to try to minimize my memory footprint, like I have had to do for other games that needed more system resources to run.

Generally, make sure everything including all drivers are updated, and verify file integrity or potentially do a reinstall, etc. etc. If you run Windows perfmon (performance monitor) and you see that the game is running out of memory, try closing everything, and running a non-browser version of Steam to minimize RAM usage.

BTW: when I first load my game file, the game shows up as using around 2.2GB - of course that will get worse if I build up the city more, but it's currently at 658/1250 - which is a fair ways into the first age - I'm saving up to build a wall right now.

Nope, just FPS lower than it should be which is expected for early access
On my second play through I had a horrible crash, laptop completely froze, had BSOD that was also frozen, it wasn't restarting on its own. Had to press power button to shutdown!!
Brand new gaming laptop, with hardly anything on it but steam and a few games, nearly broke it!!

Also experiencing crashes. Plays fine for a few minutes and then crashes to desktop.
I've tried all the usual fixes to no avail, so I'm guessing it's a bug. Gonna come back in a few days to see if anything changes.

In general, I had no crashes. I did however find the game gets stuck for a bit when trying to increase wall sizes when my first city was had a production site on the other side of the river.

Mine does crash, vut the 5 min autosave is a charm and my crashes happens after more than 3 hours of playing, so def needs fix

First play through was great no crashes using the top recommended start area (riverside I think). I started over to experience the second recommended site in the forest(not realizing the save game I had would be overwritten) and I started to experience crashes after an hour+ of game time. No specific rhyme or reason to them I can see except that I was taking some sort of action (trying to place a building/event pop-up window came up etc.)
