FAQ MEMORIAPOLIS
We consider this realy access to be a beta version, where we've introduced all the main mechanics that players interact with throughout the game.
We've integrated systems specific to Antiquity and the Middle Ages.

What type of game is it?
Memoriapolis is a city-buider where you'll need to construct different types of buildings to develop your city, gather resources, and satisfy the population. Roads and neighborhoods will organically shape based on your constructions and the attractive areas of your city.

What is the goal of the game?
To develop your city through four historical ages: Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Age of Enlightenment, ultimately achieving the status of Capital of capitals. To do this, you'll have to meet the needs of the population and face various events.

Can you stay in the same era?
From now on, when you start a new game, you'll be able to use an ‘endless’ mode in addition to the ‘normal’ mode. This mode allows you to continue playing for an age, be it Antiquity or Middle-ages, whatever your situation (whether or not you've finished the chaptering).

How long is a game to beat?
It depends on each player, so it's difficult to say. The game has a high replayability factor due to the various cultures that offer a great diversity in how you develop your city. With around 150 buildings, many of which can be combined across multiple eras.
Additionally, there are several levels of victory, and finishing the game in a certain way unlocks bonuses that you can activate for your subsequent playthroughs.

Is there a Sandbox mode?
Not. We hope to release one after the launch.

Real-time or turn-based?
The game is real-time based on cycles. By default, a cycle lasts 4 seconds, and the game can be paused actively or accelerated.

Are there battles?
It's not an RTS; there are no units to control. From one of the buildings unlocked in the Middle Ages, you can simulate battles, but it's simply a chance of success based on your investments to obtain resources as a reward. It's just one small feature among others.
The game is primarily a city builder.

Can I zoom in and walk around the city in first person?
Is there a photo mode?
It's not possible to follow a citizen in the streets, as the game wasn't designed that way. But a new button at the top right of the interface allows you to switch cameras and visit your city in a much freer way. We see this as the beginnings of a ‘photo mode’ rather than a new camera for the game.
It's experimental and we're counting on you to give us your feedback on its use.

Will the game be translated into [language]?
We're partnering with a professional agency to localize the game in at least French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. Check out our roadmap for more details!

When will the game be released?
Early Access phase started on August 29th, 2024.

How can I test the game?
Memoriapolis is available on early access : https://store.steampowered.com/app/2228280/MEMORIAPOLIS/
The early access version will allow you to experience the first two ages: Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
