No sand is a game breaking bug.
If you do not place your initial camp in the right spot you can't get sand to expand your proxomity.

Not to mention expanding proximity is broken.

Perhaps place your capital better and use you proximity buildings to access the resources easier, you can check where all available resources are before placement.

Hello,
Feel free to use the filters (button at the top right of your screen) to see where the resources you need are.
If these are not accessible, you will need to use the Surveyors' cabin to expand your territory!

As of right now you have to place the ancient camp before being able to use the filters.

Well i just think that for a city to have acces to enough sand you need something beside or near a river, so thats what i considered when placing.

Just follow the "recommended" starting area. The game gives you 2 recommended area. Those area have all the resources available.

Hello, I don't know if this is an intended feature or not.
Pressing Tab while in the Ancient Camp placement screen allows you to access the resource filter.
Hope this helps

You can use TAB to show the map and filter before you choose the place for your city.

- Select the Ancient Camp.
- Press "6" to change to the resource overlay and look for your preferred spot.
- Press "4" to check your initial radius again.
- Place when ready.

I didn't realize that I was going to need sand to expand....

I did not realize that in order to upgrade my Surveyors cabin I would need sand..

I find the buiilding zones to be far too restrictive and totally unnecessary.

the two you don't need for ancient era iron and gold those are the next age and you can always expand to get them if they are somewhat nearby
