I suppose I can take time to set up watchposts and rebuild my farms away from the city, but that's a lot of extra time and expense.
And yes, having a crooked wall fitted to the outlines of a farm does break the "organic" theme of the game.
I get that they want this game to be a certain way, but they're hamstringing and hampering everything you want to do with their refusal to even all the removal of roads, and add to that the construction of city walls. Walls that are predetermined by your city. The size, location and layout of it can't be set by the player but gets set by some predetermined algorithm that encompasses everything that's been built by the player is ridiculous. But a method that allows you to build a wall, with ramparts if you so desire to be built as and when you have to time and resources at your disposal, along with the ability to demolish or even remove sections too.
I'm not referring to the slider that sets the size and shape either. Never seen farms, quarries and mines protected by walls either. Also no double or triple walls as seen in some ancient cities. Just one.
You should be allowed to place your city walls how, and when, you see fit as well as being able to demolish and reconstruct it.
