random scrolling

please help!!! a few days ago my mouse started scrolling (zooming in and moving north) at the same time by its self. happens every game now withing the first 2 mins of playing. wargame is the only program it happens in. i have tried changing mouse batteries and updating drivers. i have determined its not a hardware issue. steam has been unsupportive and wont respond to my multiple attempts to contact them about this issue. gone so far as to unplug the mouse but still occurs. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
