How bad does the AI cheat?
Just curious. Playing a USA skirmish against a medium Polish AI with a weak deck. I take territory pretty quick, but they just keep churning out units - or so it seems. I wouldn't even attempt the campaign.

sometimes the AI stays at their base and collects ♥♥♥♥
and when you want to strike... boom 999999 tanks and AA
time to retreat=0

Sorry to even ask a question this dumb, but...would not the AI (or myself) run out of units at some point? For example, AI has two recon cards in its deck, with "6" of each one. After 12 units commit, would they not run out?

Yeah the Ai usually spams early and runs out of steam mid game. Maybe it won't run out of units but it's not very good so it must cheat.

nah AI doesnt cheat. It has same limitations as players just that their decks contain tons of cheap units and the rushing in a huge blop all at once letting it appear that they would start with more units.

The only cheat it uses it that they always know the exact position of your CV and try to overrun them with ground units. You can use it to lay a trap for them.

For units, AI always run out after a huge initial push. After the first huge initial push is much weaker 2nd drop will appear and after that it is mostly over if you counter attack.

What annoys me is you set up a Deck for the AI, but it buys whatever it wants. This defeats the whole purpose of AI Deck building, and I hope it is not the same for Red Dragon. I am giving this game a few more hours and moving on.

Okay, I'm not the sharpest in the shed, but I find it impossible to beat the AI on Easy with a weak deck. I've been playing Combat Mission, etc., for 30 years.

The AI never runs out of units. I even use CheatEngine to slow the game to a crawl and position my units properly. I'm getting like 10+ kills per Abrams tank or M901 but they keep on coming...It's my bad to expect a realistic simulation from a kid's RTS game.

Airland battle has no option to let AI chose custom decks... only in RD you can do this

Oh and I offered my help to explain you how to play and beat AI or getting ready for multiplayer which difficaulty is so insane that AI looks like a joke. But well if you refuse it or think you can play this like any other game then keep believing that this is a kids RTS and move on.

Wargame is so much more then just buying expensive units and believeing that this would be an auto win then.

I can create a custom deck and assign it to my AI opponent in 1vs1 single player in Airland Battle. It must have been back-patched a while ago.

I did note your advice, but AI has never ran out of units in any game I've played. You need to destroy it utterly. However, I did win a game on Easy. The spamming of units and the "all knowing" AI is well documented in this forum.

It is impossible for the AI to produce so many units based on the deck I give it and my difficulty setting. I can see how many points it generated at the end of the game, way more than me, even though I immediately took and held all but three objective areas.

I have RD and SD and hoping they will be more fun. At least SD has Workshop support.

The hard Ai gets more starting points. You can see it in economy mode.

Red Dragon is a lot better, but long time before hard mode for me.
tacoshy Oct 2, 2017 @ 12:29am
In Hard mode it not getting more starting points , the AI just doesn't spend all and that's what you seeing in economy mode.

The ai is basically a placeholder, playing against them is like playing a completly different game.
