Although even $99 is good value with the $20 voucher...
(and I'm not affiliated) ...
Each of the individual packs is $19:95 and includes DimLE + additional patches ... (i just got the Proteus 2000 Pack). Very good bang for buck.
- Mo' Phat
- Planet Earth
- Proteus 2000
- PX-7 Drums
- Virtuoso
- Xtreme Lead 1
Yes $99 ( -$20 voucher(?) ) is also good deal for the Complete 'Pack' Bundle too ... but beyond my budget and requirement for now.
I didn't use a voucher for my purchase. Perhaps you can get an extra 20% off (?).
'Features
• Over 500 patches
Description
Cakewalk PROTEUS 2000 includes the E-MU Sample Content from the Proteus 2000. It also includes Cakewalk Dimension LE Sample-Player Software, which can be used with VST, Audio Units, DXI and RTAS, for PC and MAC'
OK it might be a player rather than the full Dim LE edition but it means you can buy the packs and use them in MC6 or X3.
The offer to get the full LE + 500 patches only appears on the US and not the UK cakewalk store site by the way.
Still, one good turn deserves another. Issue 200 of Computer Music magazine comes with the full version of Rapture on its cover disc!! (It's due out on 5th January - and will be available for digital download).
Have a look on the individual pack pages ...
e,g, Proteus 2000 Pack:
http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=32-EMPT0.00-20E
It says:
Bonus offer: Register today and get Dimension LE + 500 additional patches FREE
I've purchased, received and played.
DimLE (+base presets (assume the 500)) and the E-MU Proteus Pack (2000 in this case) is provided as download links for Win and Mac.
You install DimLE, then the Proteus Pack (which will be available in DimLE). As above I think you may have to use the 32-bit version with MC6T.
DimLE will come up with a 'skippable' and fairly unobtrussive registration nag window. When I did register, and got the Serial Key by email, it failed at first. The Support FAQ pointed to Windows User Account Control being the issue so I had to do a one-off 'Run as Administrator" on MC6T (right click on e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cakewalk\Music Creator 6 Touch\CWMC.exe). It likely populates the key to the Windows Registry). All good running without the nag now.
I specifically did register incase I want to upgrade to DimPro, which is currently available for upgrade from DimLE for $49.
Regarding DimLE - I'm pretty sure it's the full DimLE (Lite Edition).
DimLE is a 'player' (soft synth) with effects tweaking knobs and switches. It doesn't have the wave tranformation tools of DimPro (probably some other bits too).
It comes with a bunch (500(?)) of presets, patches, instruments (whatever you want to call them) ...
and then you get the E-MU Proteus Pack(s) as well (in my case Protues 2000) at $19.95 a pop or $99 for the Complete Bundle (before vouchers).
Here is a link to some free samples from DSF if someone wants to try before they buy.

I could not get this to work, but rumors has it it works on 32-bit OS, free proteus type instrument, but not sure if anyone can get it working.

As for the Computer Music mag Rapture offer - they are a UK magazine but do ship worldwide. I'm not clear whether their digital vault download service would work for overseas electronic customers or not.still it's worth keeping an eye on...even if you have to get a paper copy..I'm a huge fan of the Rapture sounds...
I got ProteusVX working as standalone (on Win8 64bit (installs 32bit)). The VST through MC6T comes up but no sound (yet! ... audio settings greyed out).
It has 1025 presets (soundsets) ...
AND ... they appear very similar to that I got with Proteus 2000 !!! (I just really checked guitars out at this point). I guess i paid for the privilege of them working with DimLE / MC6T (and getting DimLE) :).
(I wonder if there's a way to export them to .prog (?))
First it gave an error regarding an invalid .exb file. A quick Goolge gave me some clues:

Here's what I did:
1. Start as Admin first time (Not sure if this was necessary)
2. (I did scan C:\ vi Library - Presets populated but didn't seem to take effect so had to ...)
Open the Bank (Right Click 'Proteus VX' frame or File > Open)
and load C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative Professional\E-MU Sound Central\Proteus X Composer v2.0.1.exb/Proteus X Composer v2.0.1.exb)
3. Set sound Input/Output settings manually from Options > Preferences.
4. Save the .exb on exit (You might want to back the original up first - or name it something else). Loads auto on Proteus Startup next time around,

Yeah - I'll check Computer Music mag out.
[Update]
I've since bought Sonar X3 and the ProteusVX VST works fine. Checked back with MC6T and it also works fine now ... possibly because using I'm ASIO(4ALL) drivers now (?)
...
I got the mag and downloads - Rapture is awesome.
