New player guide
Hi all and from my side I want to wish all new players welcome!
I know starting new game and learning the game may be hard so I am posting this little guide here, hope it helps someone.

At first I could mention this game focus more on pvp and rvr than pve, so do not expect very great pve content. If you are more pve player, this game might not be for you. Honestly saying I find low levels pretty boring and the great fun start when you reach level 50 and can be effective on pvp and rvr content. However, you can join the warzone activities at any level but I would recommend at least having lvl 30 before joining, the lower levels there are weaker and therefore usually get killed first. The game also offer instanced fights that are called "battlezones". You need at least level 10 to join them but I recommend having higher level - at higher level you get stronger armor, more spells, more hp and more mana. The max level in this game is 60.
This game is actively developed. I have played this game for some years and my personal opinion is that it is worth trying if you like to fight against other players. Graphics are very decent if your computer can handle maxed settings - on other hand if you got bad computer the game may look very ugly.

First login - choosing your realm;
When you log into the game for first time you have to choose your realm. You can join Syrtis, Alsius or Ignis. Let me describe these realms.
Syrtis - green realm full of green areas and woods. Races for Syrtis are elves, humans, lamais and half elves.
Ignis - red realm. Big part of Ignis realm is covered by deserts, however, they also have few green areas. Races for Ignis are dark elves, moloks, humans and lamais.
Alsius - blue realm. Alsius lands are covered by snow and pine woods. Races for Alsius are utghars, dwarves, lamais and humans.

Choosing your class;
When you have decided your realm you have to create your character. Notice that all classes are not available for all races; this is intentional, not bug. When your character reaches level 10, you can take subclass. Classes available are mage, warrior and archer. Every class has spells and use mana points to cast them. This game does not have the known "rage" system as some other games do. Primary attribute for warriors is strength, for mages intelligence and for archers dexterity. Intelligence gives more mana for all classes, strength gives more damage to warriors and makes all classes to be able to carry more items in their inventory, dexterity gives more damage to archers and to other classes it increases evade chance. I recommend putting all your 5 starting points to constitution as it is the most noticeable - it gives your character around 100 hp more depending of your class.

If you select mage, you can either become conjurer or warlock.
- Conjurers are used to heal and give support to other classes, but conjurer can as well take offensive role so you are not tied to heal other people.
- Warlocks use spells to kill their targets. Warlocks have only few support spells available - they can not heal their allies like conjurer does.

If you select warrior you can either become barbarian or knight.
- Barbarians deal great amount of damage, but their defense is weaker than knights.
- Knights do not hit as hard as barbarians but they can have good defense and they also have support spells to protect their allies.

If you choose archer you can either become hunter or marksman.
- Hunters can have pets, they are good at hiding and they can use their tracking skill to know where enemies are.
- Marksmen hit harder than hunters and they have higher range.

First time in game;
You will be level 1 and spawn at the realm initiation zone.
Skills: You will have only few skills available but you get more skill points every time when you level up. In this game you do not farm skill points - every class has same amount of them depending of the players level. When you arrive to the first city you can look for your class trainer to see which skills are available. Do not worry about wasting points - if you are not happy with your setup write "/reset_powers" to reset your skills and then you can set them again. Notice - using this command also removed spell icons from your spell bar. You can open spellbook by pressing "b" in game and dragging the icons into spellbar again.

Quests: When you are online for first time, look for NPC that has yellow "!" mark up of his head. This mark means he has quest for you. By default quest list opens on right side of your screen under the minimap. You can click the quest on the list to open quest log.

Combat: You can push ctrl(default) to start or stop combat mode. To hit mobs or other players you only need to have combat mode turned on - the hitting will be automatic so do not try to click spam your target as it is useless. By default you have few skills on skill bar; when you cast something you will go automatically on combat mode. You can use the skills by clicking their icon or using your keyboards 0-9 buttons, and shift + number for upper spell bar. Upper spell bar can be activated from settings; push "o", select "game" tab and click "Show extra quickbar".

Chat box: When you start the game you will see on chat box different tabs. When you want to write something to different tab, open the tab and then send your message. Else it might go to wrong tab.
Realm chat is either called "Syrtis", "Ignis" or "Alsius". All people who play in same realm with you and are not currently on warzone or battlezones can read this chat, so if you got problems you can try asking help there.
Commerce - this is used to sell and buy items. You can link items to this chat - open your inventory(push "i"), hold shift button and right-click the item in your inventory. Now you should have the item linked and you can push enter to post it to the commerce chat. Another way to sell your items or buy something is using auction house. More about it later.
General - use this if you want to talk to another player who is near you. Everyone who are near you and can see your character can read what you say here, but people at other part of realm can't see it. If you want to say or ask something that is better for more people to see, use realm chat.
Clan - this tab becomes available if you join clan. The text people write into clan chat is shown on green letters and you can read that on general tab also. Do not get confused about it! Shortcut to write something into clan is ".". Usage: ".Hello clan".
Party - this tab becomes available if you join party. Like with clan, party messages can also be read on general tab - party messages are on orange letters. You can also use shortcut to write into party chat: "*Hello party".

What if you run out of quests?
If you are from Syrtis go to Fisgael or Raeraia. For Ignis head to Medenet or Altaruk and for Alsius to Birka or Montsognir. Find realm task board and take realm task. "Item delivery" tasks are easy experience for players level 15 - 35. Other option is kill few mobs until you get next level and unlock more quests, or join war and try to get some kills for experience. For low levels buffing your realm mates might be easiest way.

Ximerins, premium items;
Like about any f2p game, this game also sells premium items, however, in my opinion it does not make the game pay2win as most premium items only help you to level up faster or change your looks.
Only "must-have" item in my opinion is permanent mount. Cheapest one does not cost too much, and the more expensive mounts are just for looking cooler. You can also buy costumes that only affect how you look in game. They sell experience boosters for those players who do not have enough patience - getting level 40 - 50 without boosters is possible and can be done in few days, depending of how much time you have to play.

How to get gear, gold and sell items you loot;
Auction houses can be found at Fisgael, Altaruk and Montsognir. You can set up your items for auction and buy items that other people sell. The currency used for that is gold. You obtain gold from quests or by selling looted items to NPC or in auction. If you find "Rock"s, remember to pick up them. Rocks may give you magnanite that has high worth and you can sell them for good price - or trade for gear with other players. It is great way to get some extra gold.

Some known problems;
- Character is not attacking: if your character is not hitting your target, first check you have target selected. Check are you on combat mode. If you get message "You do not have any weapons equipped" push "i" to see your inventory and double click your weapon to equip it. Sometimes when you relog it might happen you have no weapon on your hand.
- Ignis quest for warriors "New weapons": last time I checked this quest was bugged. The training swords are missing so you can't interact with them. You should just skip this quest.
- Can't see combat log: push "l" button in game to either view combat log upside of chatbox or on own tab in chatbox.

It has been long time since I started the game and many things have changed since then so I am not sure what other things new players find confusing. Ask help in realm chat, post questions here or create your account on official champions of regnum forum and leave your question there. I am sure you will get answer!

This guide deserves more attention.
Maybe it should belong to the "Guides" section instead.
