Sorry to hear that you are encountering crashing issues and launch issues in Trackmania.
To rule out some common causes of issues I have some tips I would advise trying below:
- Ensure your PC meets all system requirements [www.ubisoft.com] for Trackmania.
- Ensure you have Ubisoft Connect [ubi.li] installed and updated
- Try to have both the game and Ubisoft Connect and Steam on the same drive
- Add Ubisoft Connect and the game to your anti-virus/firewall whitelist
- Complete the steps in our dedicated troubleshooting guide [ubi.li]
- Launch Ubisoft Connect, Steam and Trackmania using admin rights [ubi.li] to ensure permissions are granted.
Should this persist, would it be possible to share your system specs so we can help further?
Many thanks
edit: Turns out I'm just impatient. This week's shorts track 4 always shows a black screen for 20 seconds or so before showing loading screen, I just needed to wait lol
Any help for troubleshooting?
Select Windows Log in the left pane.
Check under either "Applications" or "System" tab and look for the "Trackmania" process. If you've had any errors or crashes, it'll be listed here along with the faulting module, time stamp and exception code.
There's also an error code (or EVENT ID).
Do an online search for the Exception code & EVENT ID and that'll bring up lots of pages to browse to see the root cause.
Note: Use the right panel to filter the log for "error" and "critical".
That will at least give you a starting point as to a possible reason the crash occurred.
